Mountain Lab explores the intersection of art, environment, and sense of place. Focusing on Lake Tahoe and mountain landscapes worldwide, we highlight works that deepen understanding of these extraordinary environments. Located on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada, Lake Tahoe’s waters drain eastward into the Great Basin but remain intimately connected to the western slopes through historic passes—an interconnectedness that shapes the art we feature.
